Violinist Mark Kashper has been a huge part of our LAJS story since the orchestra’s inception in spring of 1994. In addition to his role as Concertmaster, Mark has also been a frequent featured soloist, performing throughout Southern California and touring with the LAJS in New York and Israel, and on all three of our professional recording albums. We couldn’t be more grateful for Mark’s years of dedicated work with the Symphony and are proud to announce his formal title as LAJS Founding Concertmaster!

The Jewish Community Chorale, conducted by Maestra Green, was thrilled to claim 1st place in the 2023 American Prize in Virtual Performance community category for Karen Hart‘s “Shake My Faith!” Enjoy the virtual performance featuring composer Karen Hart on vocals and drums with piano by Gary Stockdale.A Passover gospel number, “Shake My Faith” playfully tells the story of Moses and his conflict with the Pharoah, narrating the coming of the Ten Plagues and culminating in the Exodus of the Israelites.
